Opening Act offers special giving opportunities and benefits for donors who make a substantial investment in the success of our mission.

We operate free of charge to schools through the support of our Adopt a School Sponsors. By becoming an Adopt a School sponsor, you can bring a year’s worth of high quality after-school theater programming to the vibrant and talented students of one of NYC’s most under-served public schools and give Opening Actors the experience of a lifetime. We encourage circles of friends, families, or groups of co-workers to Adopt a School together.

RISING STAR – $500
Support an Opening Act student for one year.
Your gift provides 30 weekly, two-hour after-school workshops for one student. As a Rising Star, you will receive: an invitation to attend the student-created performance at a professional theater space in May; quarterly email updates with success stories from your school; recognition as your school’s sponsor on our Web site and in our publications.

CAST MEMBER – $1,000
Support two Opening Act students for one year.
Your gift provides 30 weekly, two-hour after-school workshops for two students. As a Cast Member, you will receive all the benefits of a Rising Star, plus: an invitation to Opening Act’s Adopt a School Soiree for Adopt a School Sponsors, Mentoring Artists, and Volunteer Artists.

LEADING PLAYER – $2,500
Support five Opening Act students for one year.
Your gift provides 30 weekly, two-hour after-school workshops for five students. As a Leading Player, you will receive all the benefits of a Cast Member, plus: an invitation to attend an afternoon of scene work in December at your sponsored school; an invitation to the pre-show reception and performance of Opening Act’s Benefit Play Reading: an exciting evening of theater with an all-star cast of Broadway and film actors.

DIRECTOR - $5,000
Support an entire school program for one semester.
Your gift provides 15 weekly two-hour after-school workshops at one of our partnering schools, and supports an Opening Act Teaching Artist and Teaching Artist Assistant for that semester. As a Director, you will receive all the benefits of a Leading Player, plus: a video of your students’ final production; an end-of-year newsletter with program highlights.

PRODUCER – $10,000–12,000
Support an entire school program for a full year.
Your gift provides 30 weekly two-hour after-school workshops at one of our partnering schools, and supports an Opening Act Teaching Artist and Teaching Artist Assistant for that year.  As a Producer, you will receive all the benefits of a Director, plus: an invitation to attend or participate in an Opening Act workshop at your adopted school. You may serve as observer, interviewee, or Guest Artist for the day, as you wish, giving you the opportunity to interact with your students first hand.
