Opening Act Dance Party

Opening Act’s annual dance party benefit has been going strong for nine years - and in 2012 Opening Act's Social Board re-imagined this fabulous event with live music by Firehouse featuring Ladyfingaz, tunes spun by DJ Mirakulus, free happy hour, and our most amazing raffle yet!  As always, our dance party ticket price was kept low, but this added up to a huge impact on NYC's under-served schools!  We're looking forward to heating up the dance floor with you again in Spring, 2013.

10 for 10 Campaign

Opening Act's 10 for 10 Campaign, sponsored by The Peoples Improv Theater, was a 10 day Campaign to raise $10,000 through $10 donations for our 10th partnering school!  Watch the Video! And learn more about the Campaign's enormous success.

Star Studded Benefit Play Reading

Opening Act’s 5th Annual Benefit Play Reading featured Sex and the City’s Cynthia Nixon and Mad Men’s John Slattery in a one-night only reading of the quirky comedy, Hate Mail, by Bill Corbett and Kira Obolensky. Directed by Broadway veteran Michael Mastro (West Side Story, Side Man) and held at New World Stages, Hate Mail reunited Nixon and Slattery after their award-winning performances in Broadway’s Rabbit Hole.
