Opening Act began its partnership with Tilden in February 2005. In the fall of 2007 Tilden began a phase out process and introduced three new smaller academies to the building. Although it will be a tough transition the school is hopeful that the new smaller-schools plan will create more opportunities for students to succeed. Opening Act is excited to offer theater programming to all Tilden Campus students and can’t wait to see them continue to shine on stage. In May 2008, the Tilden actors wowed their audience at The Public Theater when they performed the original full length production, Brookland. The play brought to life two families’ personal struggles with money and greed and the actors moved even their own teaching artists who watched with pride at the way their ensemble had grown and developed over the course of the year.
